Travel Information
BC Ferries is a ninety minute to two hour crossing from the Lower Mainland to Vancouver Island. If you’re coming from the US, Tsawwassen to Duke Point is the best route. If from Vancouver, Alberta or the BC Interior Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo is the fastest choice. Summer ferry reservations are highly recommended. The drive from Nanaimo to Port Hardy using the Inland Island highway is four hours.
Pacific Coastal Airlines offers daily flights to Port Hardy from Vancouver International Airports South Terminal. Flight time is one hour.
West Jet Airlines offers flights from Calgary and Edmonton to Comox on Vancouver Island. Flight time is one hour and the drive from Comox to Port Hardy is three hours.
